Paycheck Protection Program for Small Businesses:

The Treasury Department and Small Business Administration (SBA) recently announced the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) that prioritizes millions of Americans employed by small businesses by authorizing up to $349 billion toward job retention and certain other expenses.  Small businesses and eligible nonprofit organizations, Veterans organizations, and Tribal businesses described in the Small Business Act, as well as individuals who are self-employed or are independent contractors, are eligible if they also meet program size standards.

As an FDIC insured bank, Burling Bank is eligible to participate in the program, though we first must be approved by the SBA to administer the loans.  We are actively pursuing approval, but do not know how long this process will take and if we will be able to administer loans by the published application date of April 3rd.  We recommend that clients of Burling Bank email our Chief Lending Officer, Kevin Murphy, at covidrelief@burlingbank.com to inquire about the Bank’s ability to assist you with this process. A member of our lending team will respond to your email.

From there, you can make payments, view transactions, check balances, deposit checks, find a surcharge-free ATM and more.
